Even if you’re not an online poker player, you might have heard about the recent developments in the online poker industry – there was, after all, a huge news piece on it on just about every major news source from all over the world. For the online poker players, the situation is less dramatic, but significant nonetheless. attending an online gambling convention in Las Vegas. Facing up to seventy five years in prison, he agreed to fully cooperate with the law enforcement agencies that he struggled to avoid up that point – the result can be seen in last week’s poker arrests and indictments.
All of these actions have proven to be absolutely catastrophic for some of the online poker sites involved, as initially player count decimated, and some online poker players (the “beginners”, at least) were deterred by the message the FBI and the DoJ have put up, and chose to avoid any contact with the poker sites in question. Even now, a full week after the attack on the fraudulent companies, the domain names for the home pages are still seized by the American authorities, and players can only access the online poker software.
